Case Details
A large research institute is developing screen printed electrodes (SPE), which require printing silver paste electrodes, carbon paste electrodes, and encapsulation layers on a 150 * 130mm PET film in sequence. Each PET film has 60 SPE units, which are dried and cut into individual products. However, they encountered two major challenges:
1. There is a deviation in the position between the silver paste electrode layer and the carbon paste electrode layer.
2. The peak deviation of 2.60 SPE currents is large and too high to be controlled within 5%, which directly affects the performance and stability of the product.

Screen printed electrode (SPE) is an electrode made through screen printing technology, which is widely used in electrochemical analysis in the fields of medical, environmental, agricultural and food due to its low production cost, good repeatability, and fast response speed.
After understanding the current challenges faced by the research institute, Jyutec recommended the high-precision thick film printing equipment IC-200A-CCD to the institute and provided detailed equipment technology and performance parameters. At the same time, multiple successful customer application cases were shared with the research institute.

CCD automatic alignment printing can quickly align within 0.3 seconds, effectively reducing screen setting time and manual feeding errors.
The entire process is digitally positioned, and the buffering graphic printing accuracy is high.

After in-depth communication and exchange, the research institute went to the jyutec factory for samples. We made multiple process adjustments according to customer needs and finally successfully solved the printing problem:
1. Position deviation
Using the CCD automatic alignment function, the MARK points of the printed silver paste layer are used as a reference, and then the carbon paste electrode layer is automatically aligned and printed. Compared with traditional manual alignment, the alignment is faster and more accurate, completely solving the problem of positional deviation between the silver paste electrode and the carbon paste electrode.
2. The peak current is too high
Through measures such as replacing the screen, scraper, and optimizing process parameters, after multiple tests, the peak current of 60 SPE units was successfully controlled from 10% to within 5%, meeting the strict requirements of the customer.
